You can select up to two devices (called "Dynamic Extensions") per user so that calls to the user's corporate extension ring on his or her mobile phone, home phone, remote office, or on any other device. Six more devices can be selected in the MiVoice Business System Administration Tool for a total of eight per user.
To configure Dynamic Extensions:
(Optional) Enter a Last Name and First name if not already specified.
Note: Names are required for users with Speech Auto-Attendant service.
(Optional) Update the Dynamic Extension number. By default, this number matches the prime number for the extension, but with one digit replaced by a *. To specify a non-default number, type it in the Number field or use Autofill to generate it as follows:
Select multiple users by dragging across a range of rows.
Click Autofill.
Enter a starting extension number and a prefix digit for each Dynamic Extension. Clear the check box for any field that does not apply or that you want to fill manually.
Click OK.
Type the prefix digit the user dials to make outgoing calls over system trunks.
Note: The prefix digit is pre-filled if entered on the System Parameters page.
Type the telephone number of the external device(s).
Each number can be a maximum of 26 characters long and can include digits (0-9), *, #, and P (for pause). The 26-character limit includes the prefix.
You can omit the numbers but they must be entered later using the System Administration Tool for the feature to work.
Click Next.
Dynamic Extensions are assigned Class of Service 15 (or 16 if the set has voice mail with Record-a-Call) with the following additional options included:
External Hot Desking License = Yes
External Hot Desk Dialing Prefix = as specified (optional)
External Hot Desk External Number = as specified (optional)
Hot Desk User Permanent Login - External Only = Yes
Set Hot Desk External User – Answer Confirmation = No
Two System Speed Call numbers are created for use by Dynamic Extension users:
Speed Call Number = *1 (Embedded or MiCollab Nupoint UM voice mail)
Speed Call Number = *2 (Speech Auto-Attendant)
